The ASP Foundation has been providing gifts to the FDMN since 2023, courtesy of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Bangladesh.
To formalize FDMN support, ASP Foundation established a Rohingya Advocacy Center (RAC) to empower displaced communities by building their capacity to advocate for their rights, enhance protection mechanisms, and preserve cultural identity through strategic partnerships and grassroots engagement. We are grateful to the Swiss Agency for Development & Cooperation (SDC) and the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) for their generous support in funding the RAC Pilot Project.
Overall Objective: To increase the resilience and confidence of the Rohingya communities through capacity building and support in leadership, advocacy, and cultural preservation.
Specific Objectives:
Establish the Rohingya Advocacy Center (RAC): Develop a fully operational advocacy center that facilitates community-driven initiatives by providing training, establishing linkages with stakeholders, and addressing service gaps through collaboration.
Strengthen Community-Led Advocacy: Provide leadership, advocacy, and soft skills training to empower community members, particularly youth and women, to advocate for their rights and engage in local, national, and international advocacy efforts.
Enhance Support (Protection and Security): Identify, assess, and refer vulnerable community members, particularly those at risk of trafficking or exploitation, to relevant services, including legal aid, health services, and psychosocial support.
